PRIVACY POLICY
How your information is handled
Last updated September 7, 2026
Beckford Moves is run by Sean Beckford in Toronto, Ontario. This policy covers the website at beckfordmoves.com, the calorie calculator on it, and the Beckford Moves coaching app at app.beckfordmoves.com. It is written to be read, not skimmed past. If something here is unclear, email beckford.sean@gmail.com and you will get an answer from a person.
What is collected, and when
- The calculator. Your height, weight, age, sex, activity and goal stay in your browser. They are not sent anywhere unless you choose to email yourself a plan or request a coaching assessment. Meal photos you upload are sent for analysis and are not stored by us afterward.
- Email me my plan. Your email address and the plan you generated. If you tick the box for occasional training notes, that consent is recorded with the date. Unticked means one email, nothing more.
- Contact and consultation forms. Your name, email, phone number if you give it, and what you wrote.
- Payments. Handled by Stripe. We see your name, email, what you bought and whether payment succeeded. We never see or store your card number.
- The coaching app. Everything you log as a client: intake answers, health and injury history, training days, equipment, weigh-ins, workouts completed, meal photos and food logs, check-ins, messages with Sean, and progress photos if you choose to add them. Sign-in is through Google, which shares your name and email with the app.
- Site analytics. Page views and calculator events, collected without cookies and without identifying you personally.
Why it is collected
To do the coaching. Every field in the app exists because a coach needs it to program safely and adjust your plan. Health and injury information is collected so exercises that are wrong for your body are filtered out, and it is never used for anything else. Email addresses from the calculator are used to send the plan you asked for, and, only with your consent, occasional training notes you can stop at any time.
Who processes it
The following services run parts of Beckford Moves and handle data on our behalf:
- Base44 hosts the coaching app and its database.
- Vercel hosts the website and provides its analytics.
- Stripe processes payments and subscriptions.
- Resend delivers email from us to you.
- Anthropic provides the AI that reads meal photos and nutrition labels. Photos are processed for the estimate and are not used to train models.
- Google provides sign-in for the app.
- YouTube plays exercise demonstration videos inside the app.
- Calendly handles session booking where offered.
Each of these has its own privacy policy. We do not sell your information, and we do not share it with anyone outside this list except when the law requires it.
Where it lives and how long
These services store data in the United States and, for some, Canada. Client data is kept while you are a client and for twelve months after, so a returning client picks up where they left off. Calculator emails are kept until you unsubscribe or ask for deletion. Payment records are kept for seven years, which Canadian tax law requires.
Email and consent
Beckford Moves follows Canada's anti-spam law. Commercial email is sent only with your express consent, given by ticking a box that is unticked by default. Every such email has an unsubscribe link that works within ten business days, usually the same day. Transactional email, such as the plan you requested, a receipt, or a check-in reminder as a client, does not need consent and is not marketing.
Your rights
You can ask what we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected, ask for a copy, or ask for it to be deleted. Email beckford.sean@gmail.com and expect a reply within thirty days. Deleting client data ends the coaching relationship, since the app cannot coach a blank record. If you are not satisfied with how a request is handled, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
Children
Beckford Moves services are for adults. Clients under eighteen are taken on only with a parent or guardian's written consent, and that consent covers this policy.
Changes
When this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. A change that affects how client data is used will be sent to clients by email before it takes effect.
